Mark and Gina Goodenow founded The Goodmark with one goal in mind — to elevate the Upper Westchester dining experience.
As long-time residents of the community, we wanted to create a restaurant that feels both refined and welcoming — a place where exceptional food and drinks meet genuine hospitality. The Goodmark offers a fresh, elevated dining experience without the pretense — a neighborhood spot where guests can relax, connect, and truly feel at home.

The story of The Goodmark began more than 30 years ago in the bustling hot kitchens of metro Detroit, where Mark first honed his craft and discovered a lifelong passion for the culinary arts. Like many young chefs, he was driven by ambition—eager to grow, to lead, and ultimately to create a restaurant of his own.
Through years of hands-on experience, Mark helped shape a New American culinary perspective in the Detroit area, sharpening his skills not only in the kitchen but also in leadership and operations. His career evolved from leading high-performing kitchen teams to serving as General Manager of a three-restaurant group, deepening his understanding of hospitality from every angle.
Along the way, Mark had the opportunity to learn from and work alongside respected culinary leaders including Tom McKinnon (McKinnon’s), Richard Benson (Benny’s), Leopold Schaeli, CMC (Machus Red Fox), Jimmy Schmidt (The Rattlesnake Club), and Roman Philipp (Romanoff Catering).
Today, with decades of culinary and business experience behind him, Mark brings his thoughtful, modern take on Americana to Upper Westchester—pairing refined technique with genuine hospitality to create an elevated yet approachable dining experience at The Goodmark.
We reserve half of our tables for walk-in seating, but ALSO offer reservations to parties of 1-6 guests. Any reservations of 7+ guest should call at least a day in advance after 2:00p Wednesday through Sunday.
A 15 minute grace period is offered for all reservations.
